Laura Ramírez holds a Degree on Translation and Interpretation by Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, a Degree on Documentation by Universitat Politécnica de Valencia and a Potgraduate on Computational Linguistics by Ludwig-Maximlians-Universität in Munich, as well as a PhD on Controlled Languages and Machine Translation from the Language Theory and Communication Sciences Department, Universitat de València. Currently Laura works as an associate lecturer at the Universitat de Valencia EG, where she teaches Translation Technology and Documentation techniques to translators. Further, she has more than 10 years experience as a freelance translator and language processes professional and was vice-president and president of the Valencia Region Network of Translators and Interpreters (la Xarxa) from 2011 to 2014 . Her main research interests are translation processes in industrial settings and translation technologies, as well as new genres and registers in digital translation. She is member of IULMA and of the research project COMETVAL. She has participated as a speaker in a number of conferences and she has published several book chapters and articles.
