HannaHanna Skorczynska is a senior lecturer in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), where she teaches business communication at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is the Assistant Director for Research. Her research interests include the use of metaphor in specialized discourse, cross-cultural professional communication, and genre variation in professional contexts. She has published articles in journals such as Metaphor & Symbol, English for Specific Purposes, Ibérica, Signos, or Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences Journal, as well as book chapters in John Benjamins (Researching and Applying Metaphor in the Real World)  and Mouton de Gruyter (Metaphor and Mills. Figurative language in business and economics). She’s the director of Discourse Analysis Panel of AESLA (Asociación Española de Lingüística Aplicada). She’s currently working on cross-cultural variations in communicating corporate information and the definition of register for metaphor identification and analysis.
